Neelam’s story
“Even before we’d left university, most of my friends had decided to leave Plymouth (mainly for London – where else!). More jobs and better social life they said – they couldn’t understand why I wanted to stay.
Well, how things have change. Every month a few of them come down and visit, always going on about prices, pollution and how small their flats are. They do like their jobs, but I’m working for a company that develops technology so people can buy local food online – sound a whole load more interesting to me!
And when I’m windsurfing after work on a Thursday, they’re stuck on the tube going nowhere. Guess you don’t know what you’ve got ‘til you lose it.”
